Terms and Conditions

By submitting your contribution, you grant a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to the University of Saskatchewan to preserve, reproduce, publish, and distribute your work, in whole or in part, as part of the COVID-19 Community Archive project. This permission includes the right to reformat it as necessary to preserve its perceptibility and usefulness, and to make it available for scholarly purposes*, in perpetuity and in all media formats. The University of Saskatchewan may also use your contributions for promotional purposes associated with the COVID-19 Community Archive Project and its archival collections. You may limit the scope of permitted uses by selecting an appropriate option in the “Terms of Use” section of the submission form. This license does not authorize the exploitation of your contribution for profit or commercial use.

*Reproduction and use for scholarly purposes includes the use of your contribution for research, private study, education (e.g., reproduction and distribution to students in a course) or academic publishing (e.g., publication in a textbook or academic journal). Reproduction for scholarly purposes may result in your contribution being posted openly on the internet. For example, your contribution could be included as part of a student’s thesis, in an online repository, in an open access scholarly journal, or on a website or blog.

The material you submit must have been created by you, wholly original, and shall not be copied from or based upon any other photographic, literary, or other material, except to the extent that you have the permission of the copyright owner. In granting this permission, you warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and have the full power and authority to consent to this agreement, that your submission does not infringe any existing copyright or contain any libelous matter, nor invade any third party rights of privacy or publicity. You further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the University of Saskatchewan, its Board of Governors, students, employees, servants and/or agents from all claims, demands, losses, costs, damages, actions, suits or proceedings initiating from any actions in relation to this agreement arising from your negligence. The COVID-19 Community Archive project has no obligation to use or publish your contribution. You retain ownership of and copyright in the material you share.
