Working on campus during Covid; Pic Getting Immunized for first time.

Computers were the lifeline of the USask campus during COVID - allowing basic essential institutional business to be conducted even while ~ 95% of staff and faculty were at home and not physically present on campus. Meetings went virtual overnight, thanks to technlogy that was already in place. However the technology had never been used previously to this extreme - putting a sudden enormous load on electronic collaboration services such as Webex, Teams, Sharepoint, and Zoom).

Evidence-based versus ideology driven COVID Public Policy Decision making

During the course of my career I served in executive leadership roles with a succession of agencies in the health sector in Saskatchewan. I also served on a wide array of Boards and committees  which were tasked with policy setting. Through that experience I gained  an appreciation for the value of evidence-based policy setting. During the decade from 2009 to 2019 I also provided consulting services to a range of governments and non-government organizations.

Saskatchewan Ferries

Because of Covid-19 travel restrictions, the three of us, who have often travelled together, chose to see more of Saskatchewan by crossing all 12 ferries on the North and South Saskatchewan Rivers in a series of short trips. We include photos, interesting local information, descriptions of what we saw, and quotations from each of us.

A curriculum renewal panel discussion, a keynote address about MATH 101 and a robotic telescope demonstration were some of the highlights of the College of Arts and Science’s second annual “Think Big – Be Bold” Celebration Day.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held online. A video premiered on YouTube at 1 pm on March 24, 2021, to celebrate milestone achievements for two college commitments: Put Students First and New Curricula.
